I visited the Urgent Care Plus location regarding my daughter’s seasonal allergies last week.
Doctor Luk and his team are doing a fantastic job and trying to do everything to ensure the patient was treated correctly and answered all the questions before the patient left.
Dr. Luk is so knowledgeable and welcoming, and nurses are very friendly with patients and their families.
I’m so glad they’re close to my home.
What Is Bronchitis?
Bronchitis is inflammation of the bronchial tubes, the airways that carry air to your lungs. It’s often caused by a virus (like the flu or a cold) but can also be triggered by bacteria, smoking, or exposure to pollutants.
Acute bronchitis is temporary but can last up to three weeks. It commonly follows a respiratory infection.
Common symptoms include:
- Persistent cough (often with mucus)
- Chest tightness or discomfort
- Shortness of breath
- Fatigue or mild fever
- Wheezing or rattling breath sounds
- Sore throat or body aches
Bronchitis can resemble pneumonia or asthma, so a proper medical evaluation is important–especially if symptoms worsen or linger.

When to Visit Urgent Care for Bronchitis
You should come in if your cough has lasted more than a few days or is getting worse instead of better. Seek care if you have:
- Difficulty breathing
- Coughing up thick yellow, green, or bloody mucus
- Chest pain when coughing or breathing
- High fever or chills
- Wheezing or shortness of breath
- Symptoms lasting more than 10 days
Don’t wait until symptoms escalate. At Urgent Care Plus & Wellness, we offer same-day evaluation and treatment–no appointment needed.
How We Treat Bronchitis
Dr. Luke begins with a physical exam and a detailed symptom history. If needed, we may check oxygen levels, order a chest X-ray, or test for flu, RSV, or COVID-19 to rule out other respiratory conditions.
Your personalized bronchitis treatment plan may include:
- Prescription cough suppressants or expectorants
- Inhalers or bronchodilators for wheezing
- Steroids to reduce airway inflammation
- Antibiotics (only if bacterial infection is suspected)
- Rest, hydration, and supportive care guidance
Unsure if your cough could be related to a virus? See our COVID-19 testing and treatment options here.
