The service at the urgent care plus was very quick and welcoming. The staff were very nice, professional and delicate with every procedure. The Doctor who attended to me was very cool and friendly. I’d recommend urgent care
When to Seek Treatment for Nosebleeds
While many nosebleeds stop on their own, others may require medical attention. Visit us if you experience:
- Bleeding that lasts more than 10-15 minutes despite applying pressure
- Recurring nosebleeds without a clear cause
- Bleeding triggered by high blood pressure, nasal trauma, or dry indoor air
- Nosebleeds accompanied by dizziness, lightheadedness, or fatigue
- Blood flowing from both nostrils or down the back of the throat
We treat anterior nosebleeds (the most common type), as well as nosebleeds caused by environmental dryness, nasal inflammation, injury, sinus infection, or underlying medical conditions.

How We Treat Nosebleeds
At Urgent Care Plus & Wellness, your visit will begin with a focused evaluation by Dr. Luke to assess the bleeding source, severity, and any underlying contributors like dry air, high blood pressure, or recent trauma. Depending on the cause, treatment may include:
Direct pressure & patient education
We’ll demonstrate the proper way to apply sustained pressure to the soft part of the nose, which is often the most effective first-line treatment for anterior nosebleeds.
Topical vasoconstrictors
Medicated nasal sprays (such as oxymetazoline) may be used to shrink blood vessels in the nasal lining and slow bleeding.
Chemical cauterization
If a visible bleeding vessel is identified, a silver nitrate stick can be used to gently cauterize the area. This method is quick and typically well-tolerated.
Nasal packing
In cases where bleeding is persistent or recurrent, nasal packing (absorbable or non-absorbable) may be placed to apply pressure internally. We use modern, minimally uncomfortable materials to promote healing and comfort.
Moisturizing treatments
We often recommend nasal saline sprays or antibiotic ointments for patients with nasal dryness or crusting, which can irritate the lining and lead to repeat nosebleeds.
Blood pressure management
Elevated blood pressure can worsen or trigger nosebleeds. We’ll check your vitals and discuss follow-up if high readings are found.
Medication review
If you’re on blood thinners or anticoagulants (like aspirin or warfarin), we’ll assess how these may be contributing and coordinate care with your primary provider if adjustments are needed.
We focus on relieving the immediate bleed while addressing the root cause to reduce your risk of future episodes.
